With the tremendous support of UTA CONHI Dean Elizabeth Merwin, Daisha J. Cipher established the Nursing Education Research Initiative in 2020.  She currently serves the College of Nursing and Health Innovation as Professor with Tenure. She is a health outcomes researcher and biostatistical consultant who specializes in conducting research aimed at determining the causes of successful outcomes in clinical, educational, and medical settings. Dr. Cipher has served as the primary biostatistician for over 25 funded grant projects totaling over $30 million.

She has authored over 100 databased abstracts and publications and has taught over 100 biostatistics, epidemiology, and research design courses. Dr. Cipher is co-author of the statistics textbook, Statistics for Nursing Research: A Workbook for Evidence-Based Practice, 2nd, 3rd, 4th editions (2017, 2020, 2024). She is co-editor and author of The Practice of Nursing Research: Appraisal, Synthesis, and Generation of Evidence,10th edition (2025)
